Cooking equipment:

Directions:

Step 1: Purge the crawfish Place the crawfish in a container with water and let them soak for about 10 minutes until the water is clean. Remove any dead crawfish.

Step 2: Measure the water Fill a large pot with water until it’s 2–3 inches above the crawfish in a metal strainer pot.

Step 3: Boil the seasoning Remove the metal strainer pot with crawfish and bring the pot of water to a boil. Add the seasonings (citrus and onions) and let it boil for 10 minutes with the lid on.

Step 4: Add the red potatoes Add the red potatoes and boil for another 5 minutes with the lid on.

Step 5: Add the sausages and mushrooms Add the sausages and mushrooms and boil for another 5 minutes with the lid on.

Step 6: Add the sweet corn Add the sweet corn and boil for another 5 minutes with the lid on.

Step 7: Add the crawfish Add the clean crawfish into the boiling pot with the rest of the already added ingredients and boil it for 3.5 minutes with the lid off.

Step 8: Cool the crawfish Turn off the heat and water down the outer pot with a water hose as someone stirs the insides of the pot until the temperature drops to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. When the crawfish sinks, it’s filled with flavor and ready to eat.

Step 9: Enjoy! Pray, serve, and enjoy! For an extra burst of flavor, you can make garlic butter sauce and pour it on top of the already cooked crawfish.
